The “Blades in the Dark” are one of four archetypes meant to help Players and World to sync up on the ideas and expectations for their Fellowship. It’s the seed around which all the Protagonists will be created, tying them together in a common concept, a shared goal and a few ground details. It also sets the initial tone and scope of the campaign. Will the Protagonists travel far and wide, or will they act locally? Will they get tangled into grand machinations on a large scale, or will they deal with matters involving just a city, or just a neighborhood, or just a person?
Fellowship archetypes pay homage to famous games that specialise in a certain kind of story and group-dynamic, deconstructing that play-style and distilling into a few iconic elements:
the Range in which the fellowship operates
the typical Goals and Activities in which they could be expected to be involved with
a few Concepts to better flesh out the kind of group the fellowship is
the Scope of their usual activity, the kind of people they deal with, the level of consequences their actions may cause
the Reputation already attached to the fellowship
a few extra questions to Root each member into the setting in general and the fellowship’s situation specifically
All of this sets the starting point of the game from which the game will naturally evolve. This means that every detail of the Fellowship is open, through active play, to change, influencing but ultimately accommodating the path the story will take based on the choices and actions of the Protagonists.
The Veteran is a battle seasoned fighter, bearing the wisdom earned in the face of Death and adversity.
This class is defined by some sort of iconic weapon. This could be a rare artifact or a common tool of war but its real value lies in the unique bond the Veteran feels towards it, reminding them of past choices and scars and of how they still affect them in the present.
The Veteran class touches on many dramatic themes such as violence and its costs, scars and their history, the idea of strength and the many forms it could take. Most moves allow the Veteran to show prowess in combat, but are also open to broader interpretations, setting the stage for Players to discover what it means to be a battle hardened person in situations where there is no battle to be fought, or to find the many unexpected battlefields hidden in everyday life and challenges.

Le "Blades in the Dark" (Lame nel Buio) sono uno dei quattro archetipi destinati ad aiutare Giocatori e Mondo ad armonizzare le idee e le aspettative per la loro Compagnia. È il seme attorno al quale verranno creati tutti i Protagonisti, legandoli assieme con un concetto comune, un obiettivo condiviso e alcuni dettagli di base. Stabilisce anche il tono iniziale e la portata della campagna. I Protagonisti viaggeranno in lungo e in largo o agiranno a livello locale? Saranno coinvolti in grandi macchinazioni su larga scala, o si occuperanno di questioni che riguardano solo una città, o solo un quartiere, o solo una persona?
I vari archetipi delle Compagnie rendono omaggio a giochi famosi specializzati in un certo tipo di storia e dinamica di gruppo, decostruendo quello stile di gioco e distillandolo in pochi elementi iconici:
il Raggio d’azione in cui opera la compagnia
gli Obiettivi e Attività tipici in cui ci si può aspettare che essa sia coinvolta
alcuni Concetti per definire meglio il tipo di gruppo che la compagnia rappresenta
l’Ambito delle attività abituali, il tipo di persone con cui i membri della compagnia hanno a che fare, il livello di conseguenze che le loro azioni possono causare
la Reputazione già legata alla compagnia
qualche domanda extra per dare Radici a ogni membro entro l'ambientazione in generale e nella situazione della compagnia in particolare
Tutto questo stabilisce il punto di partenza da cui il gioco si evolverà naturalmente. Questo significa che ogni dettaglio della Compagnia è aperto, attraverso il gioco attivo, al cambiamento, influenzando ma in ultima analisi accomodando il percorso che la storia prenderà in base alle scelte e alle azioni dei Protagonisti.
Il Veterano è un combattente forgiato dal fuoco della battaglia, che porta con sé la saggezza accumulata guardando in faccia Morte e avversità.
Questa classe è definita da un qualche tipo di arma iconica. Potrebbe essere un raro artefatto o un comune strumento di guerra, ma il suo vero valore sta nel legame unico che il Veterano sente verso di essa, ricordandogli le scelte e le cicatrici del passato e come queste lo influenzino ancora nel presente.
La classe del Veterano tocca molti temi romanzeschi come la violenza e i suoi costi, le cicatrici e la loro storia, l'idea di forza e le molte forme che essa può assumere. La maggior parte delle mosse permettono al Veterano di mostrare abilità in combattimento, ma sono anche aperte a interpretazioni più ampie, mettendo i Giocatori nella condizione di scoprire cosa significa essere una persona forgiata dalla battaglia in situazioni in cui non c'è nessuna battaglia da combattere, o di trovare i tanti inaspettati campi di battaglia nascosti nella vita e nelle sfide quotidiane.

The last few days of December are always a time when we think back on the past year and what future projects or commitments we'll take on in the next twelve months.
So many things happened in 2021 and our lives got tangled up in the second consecutive year of a global pandemic, changing our day-to-day lives forever and making us rethink our priorities.
The staff of the Fantasy World kickstarter would like to wish you a 2022 full of game sessions with the people you love, and leave you with a surprise: the description of all settings by Italian and international authors that will be included in the Kosmohedron!

Gli ultimi giorni di dicembre sono sempre un momento di riflessione su come sia trascorso l’anno che sta per finire e su quali saranno i futuri progetti o impegni che porteremo a termine durante i dodici mesi successivi.
Sono successe tantissime cose nel 2021 e le nostre vite si sono intrecciate con il secondo anno consecutivo di pandemia globale, cambiando per sempre la quotidianità di ognuno di noi e mettendo in dubbio quelle che sono le nostre vere priorità.
